Voice কাকে বলে?
সহজে ভয়েস চেঞ্জ করার নিয়ম
1. প্রথমে sentence টিকে চিহ্নিত করতে হবে। অর্থ্যাৎ এটি assertive, Interrogative, Imperative নাকি অন্য sentence সেটি নির্ধারণ করতে হবে।
2. অতঃপর sentence এর object টিকে চিহ্নিত করতে হবে। সাধারণত verb এর পর object থাকে।
3. active voice এ দুটি object হলে ব্যাক্তি বাচক object টিকে subject করাই ভালো। যেমন:
Active: The teacher teaches us English.
Passive: We are taught English by the teacher.
Active: We made him captain.
Passive: He was made captain by us.
4. active voice এ দুটি object হলে যে object এর পূর্বে preposition থাকবে সেটি subject হবে না। যেমন:
Active: He did for me the unnecessary things.
Passive: The unnecessary things were done for me by him.
5. Active voice এর subject/object pronoun হলে নিম্নরূপ উপায়ে তার form পরিবর্তন হবে।

Passive voice of Assertive sentence
1. present indefinite tense ( subject + v1 + object ) কে active to passive করার নিয়ম:
object টি subject হবে + am/is/are + v3 + by + subject টি object হবে

object টি subject হবে + am/is/are + being + v3 + by + subject টি object হবে

Passive: We shall be being taught by the teacher.
9. future perfect tense ( subject + shall/will + have+ v3 + object ) কে active to passive করার নিয়ম:
object টি subject হবে + shall/will + be + been + v3 + by + subject টি object হবে

10. May, might, can, could, must, ought to, going to যুক্ত active to passive করার নিয়ম:
object টি subject হবে + May/might/can/could/must/ought to/going to + be + v3 + by + subject টি object হবে। যেমন:
Active: You can help me.
Passive: I can be helped by me.
Active: We should do our duty.
Passive: Out duty should be done by us.
Active: He is going to open an account.
Passive: An account is going to be opened by him.
11. Reflexive object ( myself, ourselves, yourself, yourselves, himself, herself, themselves, itself ) যুক্ত Active voice কে passive voice করার নিয়ম:
subject টি subject থাকে + tense ও person অনুসারে Auxiliary verb বসে + v3 + by + object. যেমন:
Active: He killed himself
Passive: He was killed by himself.
Active: She fanned herself.
Passive: She was fanned by herself.
12. Active voice এ কোনো Adverb থাকলে passive voice এ সাধারণত তা v3 এর পূর্বে বসে।যেমন:
Active: I know him well.
Passive: He is well known to me.
Active: The police beat the man severely.
Passive: The man was severely beaten by the police.
Active: Jian Played the ball beautifully.
Passive: The ball was beautifully played by Jian.
13. কিছু কিছু verb যেমন: make, hear, feel, compel, know, watch ইত্যাদির পর Active voice এ to উহ্য থাকে। তবে passive voice এ তাদের পর to বসাতে হয়। যেমন:
Active: He made me drive the car.
Passive: I was made to drive the car by him.
14. Active voice এ দুটি clause 'that' দ্বারা যুক্ত করা থাকলে দুটি clause এরই passive voice করতে হয়। যেমন:
Active: He told me that he had done the work.
Passive: I was told by him that the work had been done by him.
15. অনেক সময় Active voice এর subject কে object করার সময় by এর পরিবর্তে অন্য preposition যেমন: to, at, with, on ব্যবহার করতে হয়। যেমন:
Active: He annoyed me.
Passive: I was annoyed with him.
16. Noun + verb + Adjective আকারের Active voice কে Passive করার নিয়ম: প্রথমে Noun টি বসবে + be verb বসবে + Adjective টি বসবে + when বসবে + it/they বসবে + be verb বসবে + v3 অথবা noun বসবে + be verb বসবে + v3 বসবে + Adjective বসবে। যেমন:
Active: Honey tastes sweet.
Passive: Honey is sweet when it is tasted
Passive voice of Negative sentence
1. Active voice এ যদি not, hardly, seldom, always, scarcely, never ইত্যাদি subject বা object - এ উপস্থিত না থাকে তাহলে passive voice এ এসব শব্দের অবস্থানের কোনো পরিবর্তন হয় না। যেমন:
Active: I never eat banana.
Passive: Banana is never eaten by me.
Active: I can scarcely believe it.
Passive: It can scarcely be believed by me.
2. Active voice এর object এ যদি not, none, nobody, nothing ইত্যাদি negative word থাকে তাহলে passive voice এ এসব word ই subject হয়। যেমন:
Active: Jian killed none.
Passive: None was killed by Jian.
Active: The Muslims believe nobody but Allah.
Passive: Nobody but Allah is believed by the Muslims.
3. কিন্তু Active voice এর subject এ যদি nobody, none, none but, nothing but, not less than, not more than ইত্যাদি negative word থাকে তাহলে passive voice এ এসব word affirmative হয়ে passive voice এর preposition (by, to, at, on, with ) এর পরে বসে। এবং subject এর পরের Auxiliary verb এর পরে not বসে। যেমন:
Active: No one will deny his courage.
Passive: His courage Will not be denied by only one.
Active: None but the fool will do this.
Passive: This will not be done by anyone but the fool
Passive voice of interrogative sentence
1. Auxiliary verb ( am/is/are/was/were ... ) যুক্ত Active voice কে passive voice করতে হলে
(i) প্রথমে interrogative sentence টিকে খসড়াভাবে assertive sentence এ রূপান্তরিত করে নিতে হয়।
(ii) রূপান্তরিত assertive sentence টিকে খসড়াভাবে Active voice থেকে passive voice এ পরিবর্তন করতে হবে।
(iii) রূপান্তরিত passive voice এর Auxiliary verb টিকে sentence এর শুরুতে বসাতে হবে এবং শেষে প্রশ্নবোধাক চিহ্ন (?) দিতে হবে। যেমন:
Active: Did you play cricket?
খসড়া Assertive: You played cricket.
খসড়া Passive: Cricket was played by you.
Passive: Was cricket played by you?
2. Who যুক্ত Active voice কে passive voice করতে হলে who এর পরিবর্তে by whom বসে + subject এর tense ও person অনুসারে Auxiliary verb এর প্রথম word বসবে + object টিকে subject করতে হবে + যদি Auxiliary verb এর দ্বিতীয় অংশ থাকে তাহলে সেটি বসবে + v3 + ...? যেমন:
Active: Who is calling me?
Passive: By whom am I being called?
Active: Who does the work?
Passive: By whom is the work done?
Active: Who will ring the bell?
Passive: By whom will the bell be rung?
Active: Who teaches you English?
Passive: By whom are you taught English?
Active: Who gave you the watch?
Passive: By whom were you given the watch?
3. Whom যুক্ত Active voice কে passive voice করতে হলে Whom এর পরিবর্তে Who বসবে + tense অনুসারে Auxiliary verb বসে + v3 + by + subject টি object হবে + শেষে প্রশ্নবোধাক চিহ্ন (?) দিতে হবে। যেমন:
Active: Whom are they calling?
Passive: Who are being called by them?
Active: Whom are you helping?
Passive: Who are being helped by you?
Active: Whom do you love?
Passive: Who is loved by you?
Active: Whom did you call?
Passive: who was called by you?
4. who এবং whom ব্যাতিত wh word যুক্ত interrogative sentence কে passive voice করতে হলে wh word + subject এর tense ও person অনুসারে Auxiliary verb এর প্রথম word বসবে +যদি object থাকে তাহলে object টিকে subject করতে হবে + যদি Auxiliary verb এর দ্বিতীয় অংশ থাকে তাহলে সেটি বসবে + v3 + by + যদি subject থাকে তাহলে subject টি object হবে + শেষে প্রশ্নবোধাক চিহ্ন (?) দিতে হবে। যেমন:
Active: What do you want?
Passive: What is wanted by you?
Active: When will you do the work?
Passive: When will the work be done by you?
Active: Where did you find him?
Passive: Where was he found by you?
Passive voice of Imperative sentence
1. Main verb দিয়ে Imperative sentence শুরু হলে সেটি passive voice করতে হলে Let বসে + object টিকে subject করতে হবে + be + v3. যেমন:
Active: Do the work.
Passive: Let the work be done.
Active: Read the book.
Passive: Let the book be read.
2. Please দিয়ে Imperative sentence শুরু হলে সেটি passive voice করতে হলে Please এর পরিবর্তে You are requested to বসে + Main verb বসে + তারপর sentence এর বাকী অংশ বসবে। যেমন:
Active: Please, help me.
Passive: You are requested to help me.
Active: Please lend me some money.
Passive: You are requested to lend me some money.
3. Let দিয়ে Imperative sentence শুরু হলে সেটি passive voice করতে হলে Let বসে + object টিকে subject করতে হবে + be + v3 + by + subject টি object হবে। যেমন:
Active: Let me do the work.
Passive: Let the work be done by me.
Active: Let him sing a song.
Passive: Let song be sung by him.
4. Main verb + pronominal object ( him, her, me, us, them ) দিয়ে Imperative sentence শুরু হলে সেটি passive voice করতে হলে Let বসে + object টিকে subject করতে হবে + be + v3 + by + subject টি object হবে। যেমন:
Active: Give me a glass of water.
Passive: Let a glass of water be given for me.
Active: Bring him a duster
Passive: Let a duster be brought for him.
